Jim is currently working as a Program Analyst for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City, Florida.
Jim has been employed by the Navy for the last 53 years. Prior to working at NSA Panama City he was employed by the Navy at
the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, California. He spent three years (1989-1992) in Japan with the Navy as Head of the Computer
Department for the Public Works Center, Yokosuka, Japan. Prior to working with the Navy he served in the United States Marine
Corps from 1957 to 1960.
Jim has nine children, three (Christian, 16; Mary, 18; and James, 20) living at home. He serves as the President
of the Waller School Advisory Committee. Jim has also served as a Boy Scout leader for the past 45 years. He was awarded the
Silver Beaver Award in 1972 upon returning as Assistant Scoutmaster of the Bakersfield Troop from the National Jamboree in
1969.
He served as the Fire Chief in Fountain from 1992 through 1998. His hobbies are his family, working around
the house, and hiking. He is active in conducting Bible studies on the Navy base with the Chaplain and has conducted an Alpha
course on the base last year for the military and civilian employees. He enjoys working with the Sea Cadets and military leaders.
